The Tecarterapia, also called only Tecar (Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer) It is a modern therapy which has been greatly appreciated and used in recent years and has proved to be particularly effective in eliminating pain and inflammation in the joints, muscles and vertebral column.

The tecar is in fact indicated for to treat joint and muscular pathologies, traumas, tendinopathies, pathologies of the nerves, acute and chronic pains. To do all this, it uses a particular machine (which generates a high frequency magnetic field) connected to a metal plate that must be passed by an expert on the area to be treated.

This modern healing technique can be used in the case of:

  • Muscle injuries
  • Tendon injuries
  • Lesions to the ligaments
  • Stretching and muscular tears
  • Distortions
  • Edema
  • Tendinitis
  • Bunions
  • Traumas
  • Cervicalgia
  • Lumbago and lumbosciatalgie
  • Meniscus injuries
  • Algie
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Pubalgic syndrome
  • Post-operative rehabilitation

The instrument used in Tecarterapia uses the condenser principle and is able to increase the vasodilation of the treated area, in this way there is a greater flow of blood and increase in temperature inside. This concretely means that the body is helped and stimulated to self-heal itself.

It is basically an endogenous thermotherapy or a therapy based on heat, the peculiarity lies in the fact that the machine is able to stimulate the production of internal heat of the body.

With the Tecar you can work in two different ways: capacitive and resistive. The former is used in case of soft tissue problems, for example muscles but also connective tissue, blood vessels and lymphatics. Mind the second is indicated in case the problem is deeper or dependent on the hardest tissues such as bones, cartilages or joints. Often, however, both methods are used alternately during treatment.

Therefore, on Tecarterapia we must know that:

  • Increases vasoldilation
  • Increases the heat inside
  • Increases blood circulation
  • Increases tissue oxygenation
  • It stimulates the body to self-heal
  • Stimulates lymphatic drainage
  • It is an endogenous thermotherapy
  • Depending on the problem, it is possible to work in capacitive and resistive mode
  • Stimulates the release of endorphin (and therefore acts on pain)

Tecarterapia is able to accelerate the body's natural processes and in particular cellular repair, it is also able to reduce pain with the advantage of speeding up the recovery of the trauma or the problem that has affected the body.
The best results obtained with Tecarterapia are in the treatment of spinal column problems, feet, shoulders, ankles, knees or hip. Tecar is widely used in the treatment of sportsmen thanks to its particularly rapid results.

A session usually lasts 30 minutes may be necessary depending on the area to be treated and the acute or chronic situation, do a cycle of 5-10 treatments. However, the benefits can be seen from the first treatment.
If you are wondering if Tecarterapia really works, the answer is yes! Naturally it must be performed by specialized people after assessing the overall situation of the person and establishing an appropriate therapeutic action plan.
The session takes place as follows: the patient is made to lie down on a bed after having removed the clothes relative to the area to be treated. At this point the therapist places on the point of the body affected by the problem the gelatinous substance on which will place the mobile plate attached to the machine for the Tecarterapia and will begin the massage in which you will feel a great heat. At the end of the treatment the gelatinous substance is simply removed with paper.

Tecar therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that is suitable for everyone as it does not have any special contraindications. Not recommended for pregnant women and those who wear pacemakers (unless it is your doctor after evaluating the situation as a whole to advise you). One must also lend those who are particularly sensitive to temperature.
